I really do not care for that store. I find better stuff at better prices at Ross. On the mainland, I loved Home Goods and TJ Max for the kind of stuff BBB sells. Also, Williams Sonoma, Ikea Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn were great too. Far better prices and more hip selection.
Those days are so over for me. Same as shopping at Nordies. I am actually surprised they are still in business. They closed lots of stores in Chicago about 5 years ago. Linens and Things (same concept) went into bankruptcy.

Home Goods sells some crap (IMHO). I like BB&B for linens and things. Even BB&B have gotten a little crappy over the years and are stuffed to the gills with "As Seen on TV" crap I must say.

I, or I should say, "we" like any excuse to hit Oahu and get our "fix" of shopping, nightlife, food, drink, etc...
Alan Wongs, Sorabol, Chef Mavros, La Mer, Shorebird, Napoleons, Zippys, etc etc this list goes on and on...
Lewers Street has some cool bars and restaurants and the bidding wars right now on Oahu are extremely ridiculous. You can stay right on Waikiki for $69 a night...
I also have a chef friend that lives in Hawaii Kai and so I think a Oahu trip is due in our immediate future. Anyway, I like options and BBB offers that...

I get free hotels and free flights so the only real hold back... is that only I get the flights and I have to pay for wife and baby.
However, I lived right across the Ala Wai for a Decade... so I kind of like the Big Island and only like going to Oahu to just get away from the Big Island for a few.
I don't find the island of Oahu relaxing at all. Too fast paced and just too many people stuck on themselves.

When we moved to Hawaii we got rid of 60-70 % of what we owned. ON PURPOSE! Why the hell would I want to buy more "stuff"? I have what I love and I can get what I want online if I ever need it, but really once you downsize buying more S**t is really totally stupid. The whole point of moving here is to simplify your life and to bring whatever you really love with you.
Hello... Blake aren't you planning on doing that too?

We don't have a lot of "stuff" to begin with. I can see us going to HNL for a dose of city and perhaps picking up some things we can't get on Hawaii. Remains to be seen I suppose.

Cold? 808... where do you live? It has never dropped below 65 in the whole time I have lived here. When I lived in CA we kept the AC on 65 all summer.
It is NOT cold here, unless you live in up country and if you do, that was your choice, if you want warm weather, move to the coast... looks like you should move to the West Coast if you want hot and dry.
